A recent conversation with a music-expert coworker as I gave him a ride home the other night:
Me: So, there was this interesting special about Stax records on PBS the other night. I kind of liked it.
Him: Oh, yes. I saw parts of that. You know, that one guy who featured heavily? Whoever that was, he had a great voice.
Me: Are you talking about Otis Redding?
Him: Oh, yeah. Maybe that's who it was.

Whoever he was. The man ain't got no culture.
And yet, if it had been the Scissor Sisters, it would have been on the tip of his tongue.
I'm doing my part for the soul.
instead of driving him home, you should've drove to the ghetto and pushed him out of the car.
Given what we do, it does seem like sacrilege.
But he's perhaps the lone baby boomer who escaped popular-culture milestones untouched. Although he did once own a fierce purple velvet suit, so I cut him slack.
