I think I'm going to conduct a sociological experiment on this nonsense. For the "comfort" level one one person, doors remain closed and scotch-taped with construction paper. Needless to say, it's quite the professional display, sure to be appreciated by the guests milling about the suite.
It's amazing how we all behave accordingly (path of least resistance, I guess) and one person can enforce her arbitrary will. It's also amazing how infuriating it is.
