It's Official!

Check out the White House website and new blog!

And one of Obama's first actions is going to be lifting the global gag rule--i.e., the rule prohibiting federal funding to international family planning groups that mention abortion--which is most excellent news.

We are the ones we've been waiting for!

Were you able to watch it, or were you one of the man thwarted by the amount of online traffic?

We watched on a tv they have set up in the conference room to record author appearances and other publicity events. So, we watched from about 11:20 until whenever the luncheon started (we had pizza delivered, though it was delayed due to the amount of offline traffic and number of offices ordering in pizza to watch the inauguration).

That's another metric I'd like to see: number of pizzas ordered during this event.

I just passed along to a friend of mine this amazing statistic: "as of 1p ET today, CNN.com Live served more than 18.8 million live video streams globally since 6a, shattering its all time total daily streaming record set on Election Day with 5.3 million live streams."

Earlier, AP crowd estimates for DC put it at 1 million. Bet it's more.

Do you really think that you could do a better job as president? What are you bringing to the table that's so extraordinary? Frankly, I live in Illinois and Obama was a pretty ordinary senator. I guess you're saying that "We" are pretty ordinary.
