After the first few terror-stricken moments where all of the blood drains from your face and you feel like you're going to pass out, it feels a bit liberating. And then it sucks again. My sincere sympathies.
My tech friend's response: "You could request a restore of your mailbox, or you can just walk with a lighter step having purged yourself of all that extra 'stuff'." Indeed.
On the up side, the holiday fruit basket arrived from the editor whose head I bit off yesterday (albeit nicely, and he really did need to rein the ocd--big picture picture, not querying all your librarian contacts regarding adjectival forms).
What's sad is that it's only Tuesday. My boss just called to make sure I didn't throw myself in front of a bus.
