It's Not Signed, or Anything. Does It Still Count?

Okay, it's a terrible picture, the sewing basket blends, and you can't see the lipstick (and I still say it looks nothing like me). My question, though, is when Erik is wildly famous, can I make a mint?

I'm sure you could get a pretty penny for this on eBay as we speak.

oh my god. are you kidding? it totally looks like you. i mean, you have probably replaced those electrical tape glasses you used to wear back in 1998(!), and your hair is no longer made of lavendar velvet, but otherwise. seriously.

The hair is shockingly close, I'll grant you--kind of a shag, if you will.

And the glasses would be closer if they were green.

The lipstick shade, though: spot on.

thank you. i'm glad my work holds up over time.

i have to admit, that puppet takes me back to the T&F days. remember when corey put all of the books that had mistakes in them in the middle of the conference room table and made us all look at the pile while he scolded us? good times.

You know, I have absolutely no recall of that. Obviously I took the corrective to heart, and it reflects my work to this day.

What really sticks out in my memory is our dedication and professionalism: nerf ball, sock puppetry, valentines day boxes with your Barry White theme, my Edward Gorey homage, and the creepy creepy, yet brilliant, anonymous poems (you can admit it now: that was you, right?).

And this was all apart from actual vendor and author interaction. We excelled in that too, particularly those times when there was a open bar.

wait, we were supposed to be making books there?
i remember you having an edward gorey fixation. i'm hazy on the valentine boxes. please jog my memory. about the creepy poem thing too. do you have a sample? i dont think it was me, but i was all cheech and chong back then, so who the hell knows.
oh, and i remember the alamo, only i remember it having a basement.

Yeah, we did a departmental elementary-school-style valentine's day, where we all made boxes for the desks and swapped cards. I vaguely recall we all got a handwritten poem, unsigned--slightly lewd variations "roses are red" or something--and no one 'fessed up. Alas, I didn't keep it, which is a loss for posterity.

Or possibly my brain made all this up in the same meeting where Corey was shaming everybody's shoddy work.

The alamo had a basement? I do know that one of the lesser Swayzes made a movie about it (the alamo, not the basement).

yes yes, i do remember the valentines boxes now! i still cant claim authorship of the poems. maybe it was me, maybe not. but probably it was that perv toby.

i was thinking about peewee's big adventure (in reference to the alamo's basement).

i wasn't aware that there were lesser swayzes. someone should lock them up in the alamo's basement before they create any more "entertainment."

It probably was Toby.
