Just, Wow. I Wondered Why She Was Wearing the Ballet Shoes

And they say that beauty pageants are about more than just how chicks look in swimsuits.

Among the many things that intrigue me about this video is the utter and complete lack of musical ability that this chick has. Sure, it takes some wind to blow a trumpet....lol.....but she's not even on key (for those of us who can't tune that sort of thing out, it is excruciating...). Couple that with the lack of any grace/style in her "jazz" dance acting thingy.....and....well its just horrid.

I want to know who told her she could do this.......which stage mom is responsible for this creation!

Amen, sister! When I'm cringing over how out of tune you are, you know it's bad. And she plays just that one riff on it, which leads me to believe she probably "learned" it for this particular occasion. I kind of picture it playing out thusly:

"I'm Miss XXXX! Yay! Oh, shit, I need a talent?"
[evil friend who's not really a friend]: "No problem. You can do some sort of dance thing. And play an instrument. They're not that hard; trumpets have like three keys. Put some spangles on your outfit, some tinsel fringe, and the judges will love it."

What's sad is that poor woman's getting humilated for something that happened in 1992 or 1993.

Truly the internet has an eternal shelf life.

Another theory from Andy: she didn't realize that the background music was going to be in a different key, and she just had to soldier onward, not being skilled enough to able to transpose on the fly.

that was from 1992?! i thought it was a transmission from some distant future utopia. it was so fresh and eye-popping.
also, when you're performing on a black stage, you don't want to wear black. or maybe you do, if your dancing resembles that of a paint-huffing gorilla.

My favorite publicity shot someone supplied for me to use: her, wearing black, against a black background. All you could see was the violin.
