No list yet, but I did hear from Chicago and it was "no", so your city has let me down.

How a propos the last song is. Anyway, no travels for the holidays, aside from trips to NJ and Long Island to visit the parents and inlaws. Happy Happy everyone. I'm working through this week and then I'm off until the 2nd.

Yesss, Toby with the classic rock! Speaking of Led Zepplin, how are you feeling about the reunion?

Notwithstanding the fact that I have all their albums (via other people), I'm kind of with you on the decemberists. There are a couple of songs I like, I do admire the ambition, but I can't quite get behind the pretension, e.g., "Chimbley Sweep"?

I'm going to MI (yay!) and Ohio (yay!) for family fun and bonding. I have a fleet of petsitters at the ready and the Garrett's popcorn bought.

yeah, it's pretty damn pretentious. and the lead singer's voice is kind of annoying. they're kind of like the nonthreatening, self-satisfied version of neutral milk hotel. neutral milquetoast hotel, if you will.

laura, have fun in the heartland. toby have fun with your 38 special and hordes of female admirers. me,
i'll be in san francisco.

what the hell is garrett's popcorn?

Enjoy San Fran. Hope it's relaxing.

Garrett's popcorn = Oprah favorite and Chicago institution. Think soup nazi, for popcorn.

Mr. jazz literate, if you didn't check out the the youtube link on the post below, do. The composer was not only the nicest dude on the planet, he knew everyone who was anyone in 50's jazz. Plus, the only person of my acquaintance who dated a blaxploitation film star. Unless you or Tobe are holding out details on me.

will check said link.
i cannot claim the title "sugar daddy for blaxploitation film star," but i'll be completely surprised (and a little disappointed) if toby does the same.
