I like the copycat story line. There's a lot they can do with it. What do you think of Kristin Bell's character? I don't like that she's bad - I want her to be good. Daddy? She must be Bob's daughter?
The special powers are genetic mutations but there's no rhyme or reason to what the offspring of heroes will be (e.g., flying father and fire-producing mother create an indestructible daughter. Dude who walks through walls and a mother with a superstrong alter ego create a kid who can manipulate machines). So why does Parkman have the same powers as his father? How can the company know that the copycat woman has her powers only a day after she realizes she even has them? I still feel like we're in the early stages with chess pieces being moved around for a spectacular kill. Big things afoot.
What is in Montreal? And Peter's timeline would look something like: explode in mid-air, come back to the ground, run home, get passport, buy plane ticket, lose memory, wind up nearly naked in cargo container in Ireland.
I like the copycat power too, and I like Monica a lot as a character. How does the company know? Possibly they're tracking and bugging Micah? He did use his powers when he wasn't supposed to.
It wasn't clear to me that Parkman and his father had the same power--Parkman can read minds, but his dad can manipulate people's perceptions, kind of like Candace.
Who is Bob again? Don't like Kristen Bell so far. She's far too smugly evil.
And Nathan's seeing his own burned face makes a bit more sense. He's feeling guilty not just over what he thinks happened to Peter, but over his own role in the city's near destruction. He was seduced to the dark side for a while, there.
Definitely going to need some fancy footwork to get the Peter storyline into any semblance of coherence.
As for Parkman, his father said that reading minds is only the beginning, hinting that the son hadn't yet accessed the full extent of his powers and that he believed they had the same powers.
Man, it's like 24! Too many details for me to bother my little head about, it appears. And this was me not multitasking while it was on.
I guess my starting point was not taking anything Parkman's dad says at face value.
Maybe there are several ways Heroes are created? Some deliberately created and some by spontaneous mutation? They're definitely underscoring the duplicated powers among generations, so there's a logic somewhere. Or, perhaps as original Heroes were created, the subsequent "organic" generations developed their own unforseen powers with cross mixing of powers.
Hey, maybe the variable in this equation is whether both parents are heroes or only one. Ergo, Nathan plus fire chick gives you a completely new power; Nathan plus normal woman begets someone with his power?
